Google Ad Extra Option to AdWords

Last week Google announced a third option for optimising ads in AdWords that will allow users greater flexibility to maximise the performance of their ads and improve conversion.

Traditionally just two options were available for ads, optimising for clicks and rotation.

The first option allows you to choose ads that are most likely to get clickthrough. This is supported by the clickthrough information provided by Google. The second option is designed to give each ad a fair representation.

Now though, the extra option will allow users to select the ads most likely to convert. This might be a relief to some who feel that clickthrough doesn’t always tell the whole tale of the performance.

“Helping you reach your advertising goals”

A statement taken from the Google AdWords blog stated:

“By providing another way to define the “best-performing” ad, we hope to make it easier for you to experiment with your ads and learn which ones are the most successful in helping you reach your advertising goals.”

Using the new feature will require Conversion Tracking which will provide the data about what ads are performing the best.
