Need An Answer? Ask 500 Million on Facebook

Have you ever found yourself scratching your head whilst pondering an answer to a troublesome query? Ever wanted to ask a community of experts a question but don’t know where to start? Well, now you can ask questions until your heart’s content on Facebook.

What’s more, your question will be picked up by over 500 million people – so there is a pretty good chance you will get some good answers.

“Tap Into the Collective Knowledge of 500 Million People”

Facebook has launched, in beta, a questions feature so that you can get the answers you need quickly from a rich community of knowledge. Normally, people tend to pose questions in their status and hope for a response from their network of friends. Now, you can broaden the net of people your questions will reach by making it public.

Facebook launched this new feature on Wednesday (28 July 2010) and a statement on their blog read:

“Facebook Questions helps you tap into the collective knowledge of the more than 500 million people on Facebook. For example, if you're vacationing in Costa Rica and want to know the best places to surf, you can use Facebook Questions to get answers from nearby surfing enthusiasts. Because questions will also appear to your friends and their friends, you'll receive answers that are more personalised to you.”

There is also a pretty nifty option of taking a picture of something, uploading it and asking people what it is.
