Bing Results Appearing in Yahoo!

Yahoo! has started testing listings from Microsoft in both organic and paid search. Initially this is likely to affect the American market more, where it is expected to feature 25% of Microsoft organic listings and 3.5% of paid listings.

During this period of testing, many people may stumble across these results. Whilst searches from Microsoft might start appearing in Yahoo! its appearance will remain the same. According to Yahoo's VP of Search Product Operations, Kartik Ramakrishnan, the “primary change for these tests is that the listings are coming from Microsoft”.

A Great Time to Review Your Crawl Policies

Microsoft have also suggested this would be a good time to “review your crawl policies in your robots.txt and ensure that you have identical polices for the msnbot/Bingbot and Yahoo’s bots.”

The Bingbot will replace the msnbot completely as of October this year. Additionally, the Bing Webmaster Tools are now live for you to check out.

It appears the alliance is very much in full swing and it is full steam ahead.
