Many different elements of a search engine optimisation (SEO) campaign can work together to increase sales, it has been noted.
Online marketing commentator Leon Bailey Green explains that some firms may wish to hone their campaigns to a single element that works best.
But he warns against streamlining SEO initiatives too much - as doing so could leave other companies targeting more revenue streams.
Mr Green comments that, initially, it may prove favourable to focus on elements which "do" rather than those which merely "help".
He cautions, though, that this only remains a good idea "until your competitors do the same as you plus the stuff that helps".
The SEO commentator suggests that combining elements can prove advantageous - as a click-through rate may be driven higher due to the brand awareness that a banner advertisement generates.
Mr Green previously advised that, as awareness of SEO rises throughout the industry, online companies must look to new ways of optimising their sites in order to remain competitive.
