Natural links aid SEO

Webmasters should do more to acquire natural in-bound links as part of their search engine optimisation (SEO) campaigns, it has been claimed.

Tad Chef writes for the SEOptimise blog of the benefits of natural links over their paid counterparts for SEO.

He asserts that paid links receive significant monthly budgetary allocations, but may not achieve any advantage in Google rankings.

"Getting links naturally requires also an investment - an allocation of time and resources," he adds.

However, Mr Chef suggests that, with an understanding of web development and site design, natural links can prove a positive area for investment.

"Soon we'll see a situation where all artificial ways of link building will be frowned upon," he predicts.

Patrick Altoft previously wrote for SEOptimise that the nature of link building can mean it is difficult for companies to achieve.

He explained that many firms are looking for in-bound links to boost their SEO, but that there may conversely be a lack of organisations willing to provide outgoing links.
