Is pay per click set to grow?

Paid search, including methods such as pay per click links, is set to grow over the next year, researchers have predicted.

Ed Stevenson, in a post for the e-consultancy blog, notes the price of keywords may prompt marketers to turn to new strategies to promote their business, while careful management, targeting and testing of keywords will also become a priority.

Meanwhile, he states geographic and demographic targeting will also become increasingly popular.

"The marketers that invest in testing and applying these tactics will not only benefit from increased [return on investment] and revenues, but a strategic advantage in a market that will continue to become more competitive," he adds.

Mr Stevenson claims social media marketing could also become increasingly popular, as networks such as Facebook and Twitter become more widely used for search.

By capitalising on such trends, businesses will find they are able to stay ahead of their competition, he concludes.

Michael C, in a post for SEOmoz, recently stated when using keywords for ranking purposes, Google favours domains names which contain one or more of the keywords being searched for.
