Businesses which use a domain name which closely matches an online user's keywords all glued together will find getting on the first page of search engine optimisation (SEO) results is like "fishing with dynamite".
Such is the assertion of Michael C, in a post for SEOmoz, who adds it is well known that Google favours domains names which contain one or more of the keywords being searched for when it comes to ranking.
The realisation of this pattern results in mass-buying of domain names rich in keywords and an attempt to turn these into top ranking sites, he adds.
Techniques used to achieve this include 301 re-direction of keyword-rich domains, content-heavy doorway pages on those domains and moving existing sites on to the domains, Mr C states.
Businesses may find social media marketing is also able to drive their SEO results.
