Google's new voice search function will bring with it a number of opportunities, one sector commentator has asserted, which could include the ability for businesses to develop their pay per click further.
The search engine's new Google Voice tool is part of its evolution to integrate online data with offline interactions, according to Andreas Pouros, chief operations officer for Greenlight.
And he adds Google Voice is more than simply a case of vocalising speech terms in order to instigate a query.
Mr Pouros suggested the function could be used by people looking for information on music they have just listened to.
Another potential application could be to develop a tool which could be used in conjunction with a Global Positioning System, with users asking for recommendations on places of interest, he added.
His comments come after market researchers Covario released a report showing that paid search advertising spend is expected to increase by 14 to 18 per cent in 2010.
