Businesses working on their own search engine optimisation (SEO) campaign may have been interested to note recently the appearance of real-time updates in Google's search results.
In order to take advantage of this development in terms of driving SEO, one sector commentator has advised firms to take advantage of social media marketing.
Commenting on the difference between SEO for contemporary references and results for broader issues, Sam Tilston, director of marketing for Zoombits.co.uk, said it is important to remember Google's universal search when approaching the former.
This saw a number of different types of sources incorporated into the Google results page, he explained.
"Therefore, if you are doing SEO for a contemporary reference, it is vital to ensure your message is placed on Facebook and Twitter to ensure they are included in the Google real-time search," Mr Tilston asserted.
Businesses using SEO may soon have to compete with hackers for rankings, after Sunbelt Software revealed such cyber-criminals use SEO optimised titles to rank highly in search engines.
