Yahoo! undertakes own search engine optimisation

Yahoo! has undertaken its own search engine optimisation, literally optimising its search engine's front-end technology to respond more quickly to queries.

The development was revealed last week on the Yahoo! Search and Yahoo! Search Marketing blogs.

For search marketers, Yahoo! explained that the new software should mean more exposure for advertisements.

Meanwhile, natural listings could also gain through the introduction of the new front-end as Yahoo! predicts more relevant and fully featured results could be returned for many search queries.

"With a slew of cool new search applications and features, the enhanced Yahoo! Search page will be more valuable than ever to users," the portal developer asserts on its Search Marketing blog.

The new version provides new opportunities to improve search engine optimisation of multimedia content such as video and images.

Yahoo! explains on its Search blog that queries containing celebrities' names will now yield results with shortcuts to related searches about their co-presenters or co-stars.ADNFCR-1971-ID-19382815-ADNFCR
