Search engine optimisation (SEO) companies and campaigns can benefit from employees who have knowledge on a variety of subjects, one sector commentator has claimed.
In a blog for Search Engine Watch, Justilien Gaspard looks at the five skills marketers may find essential and notes that a person who is more "worldly" is likely to notice opportunities in SEO and marketing that may be overlooked by someone else.
He adds that creativity is another important attribute, where someone could create widgets, tools and content that may prove more successful in marketing than simply sending out emails.
Task-oriented behaviour, attention to detail and the ability to multitask were also noted by Mr Gaspard as being useful skills in SEO.
"Try to find the right balance to fit your company's needs. Then, as your company expands, find others to complement that person's skills," he concluded.
And businesses considering an SEO campaign may wish to make this their main priority in a website relaunch, after Search Engine Watch's Mark Jackson said that SEO and usability were important motives for such action.
