Search engine optimisation (SEO) is becoming more popular as a marketing technique as the recession continues, it has been claimed.
Due to the cheapness and effectiveness of this particular form of web marketing, more businesses are using it to help them see big benefits, founder and CEO of the Online Marketing Summit conferences Aaron Kahlow told BtoB Online.
"There has been an acceleration [in attempts] to figure out proper web site optimisation due to its lower cost overall and higher ROI," he said.
He noted that there is a "natural awakening" to the benefits of natural search, adding that there are now very few people who would argue that SEO is not the most effective way to attract traffic.
Figures recently released by Forrester Research suggest that spending on SEO and pay per click campaigns is likely to increase over the coming years. However, the organisation also recently stated that online marketers could be doing more to utilise the benefits of focusing on blended search.
