Microsoft has published a number of pointers on how to get the best search engine optimisation (SEO) out of its new search engine Bing.
Bing: New Features Relevant to Webmasters explains how Bing can have an effect on users' SEO activity, both past and present.
It focuses on the differences between Bing - which Microsoft calls its "first ever decision engine" - and its former search service Live Search.
One primary difference is the search page itself, which after the first five links which relate to the actual query, are then split into related categories, Search Engine Land states.
Due to these categories, webmasters now have more long-tail opportunities available to them which could help to boost their SEO success.
Upon launching Bing, Whitney Burk, director of the search engine, said it was focused on helping users to complete tasks faster and offering organised and more relevant content in response to search queries, along with improved tools.
