The typical time it can take for a search engine optimisation (SEO) campaign to show results for a new domain is between three and nine months, one sector commentator claims.
However, Chris Boggs, in a post for Search Engine Watch, notes that this is not always clear cut and results can come quicker.
"If you have and continue to put out useful content and if you're fortunate to benefit immediately from authoritative and consistent links ... you could see results sooner," he states.
Mr Boggs adds that if the technical infrastructure of the domain is not supporting positive crawling of the site's pages or understanding its content then this time could be increased and may prove unsuccessful overall.
Duane Forrester, in a recent article for Search Engine Land, advised businesses and web users that SEO was still a "valuable" tool to invest in and that it was important for employers to get their workforce excited about such a campaign.
