While many businesses are finding their budgets have become constrained in recent months, one sector commentator has advised that search engine optimisation (SEO) is not a marketing technique that will go away.
Duane Forrester, in an article for Search Engine Land, said SEO was still "valuable" and "worth investing in".
"This is an opportunity to get folks focused on SEO work under the radar," he added.
Mr Forrester advised companies to get their employees excited about SEO and that this may help them to find support for related projects from within their work force.
He noted that it mattered less what order an SEO campaign was carried out in and more that it was being conducted in the first place.
Eric Enge, in a post for Search Engine Watch, recently reminded firms that it was important to remember SEO when carrying out a restructure of a website.
He advised companies to create one-to-one mapping of pages from the old site to the new one to help maintain SEO.
