Google's PPC advice

Google has offered businesses and brands some advice on maximising their pay per click (PPC) investment.

On the search engine's AdWords blog, Amanda Kelly said that due to the current downturn firms need to concentrate more on engaging price-conscious consumers.

The Google internal team of AdWord optimisers reveals a number of tips to see companies getting the most from their investment, with the first one noted as focusing advertisements on low prices and savings.

Using value-related keywords, making sure ad groups are targeted and relevant, not wasting money on irrelevant clicks, making the buying process simpler for customers and focusing money on high performers was also recommended.

Ms Kelly states that she is hopeful such tips can see businesses get the most of their PPC investment.

Meanwhile, mad.co.uk has claimed that firms are increasingly turning to search engine optimisation, not just as a response to tighter budgets, but also to boost awareness and acquisition of their brand and products.
