A number of new features to the Google Suggest tool have been unveiled - one of which could be of particular interest to online marketers.
Sponsored links may also now appear in the Google Suggest box, although these will, for the time being at least, only show beneath other suggested completions to what is being typed.
Announcing the change, Google confirmed it recognises that in certain circumstances, the "most relevant completion" for what is being typed is an advert.
Currently, only one sponsored link will be shown in the suggested search terms box. However, Matt McGee of Search Engine Land wonders for how long this will be the case, adding that Google has in recent months been placing paid search results "anywhere and everywhere".
A number of other changes were also confirmed by the search provider. These include navigational suggestions, where direct links to websites will be provided in the suggestions box, provided Google believes a person is looking to navigate to a specific site.
