Time to fear Google?

While Google may have proved an increasingly useful tool in search engine optimisation, for some businesses this love is likely to have turned to disdain, according to one commentator.
In a blog for Search Engine Watch, Kevin Ryan said that for some it will be difficult to pinpoint when this disdain occurred.
He adds that in recent weeks he has received a number of negative comments about Google - from journalists asking about privacy, data portability and market dominance, to consumers querying positioning.
"It's the successful businesses out there relying on Google's technology that don't have a voice. They live in fear for their future if they don't adhere to Google's ever-changing guidelines," Mr Ryan states.
However, he concludes that there are no easy solutions to determine if these fears are rational.
Meanwhile, Google has recently informed AdSense publishers on both its AdSense and Analytics blog that they can now integrate AdSense data directly with Google Analytics.
