Google is continuing to hold its own in the search engine market, according to data released this week.
The figures by comScore reveal that in the US, Google's share of searches for March was at 63.7 per cent, up from the 63.3 per cent recorded in February.
However, during the same period Yahoo! slipped 0.1 per cent from 20.6 per cent to 20.5 per cent, although Microsoft made gains of the same amount, with searches growing from 8.2 per cent to 8.3 per cent.
The largest slips were demonstrated by the ASK Network and AOL LLC, which fell from 4.1 per cent to 3.8 per cent and from 3.9 per cent to 3.7 per cent respectively.
ComScore revealed that total searches - 14.3 billion - conducted in the US for the month of March increased by nine per cent.
The figures are supported by earlier data released by Hitwise, which recorded that Google held its lead in search engine popularity, with its share of the US market growing from 72.11 per cent to 72.39 per cent.
