A judge has ruled in favour of one AdSense publisher who brought a case against Google to court claiming that the search engine had cancelled his account with no warning.
In an article for the Huffington Post, Aaron Greenspan claims that his account was cancelled nine months after signing up in March last year and that he never received the $721 (£512) his Think Computer site made.
And when he tried to contact Google to obtain an explanation he discovered there was no customer service for AdSense.
In court, Google litigation paralegal Stephanie Milani asked: "What if everyone whose account was cancelled sued Google?"
However, in a post for Search Engine Watch, Nathania Johnson claims that this should be a question for Google itself, not a small claims court.
She added that the cancellation Mr Greenspan experienced often resulted when site owners used AdWords to "send traffic to an AdSense-laced page".
It now remains to be seen if the case will lead to a similar slew of cases.
