In with the new

This year, businesses are likely to be turning towards newer marketing techniques, one expert has claimed.

Phil Turnbull, marketing manager at Hostway, said that these methods are not likely to be more advanced, but would add to the marketing techniques already being used, which may include search engine optimisation, social media marketing and pay per click.

Speaking at the recent Technology for Marketing & Advertising, he pointed to the employment of video in campaigns as the method which was immersing itself into the market much more now.

"People aren't really as satisfied from a usability and excitement point of view [with] just seeing text and widgets," Mr Turnbull explained.

As a group, Hostway has noted the value of using more advanced tools in order to deliver campaigns which will stand up globally under fluctuating traffic.

These include solutions such as content delivery networks and server virtualisation, which the organisation states allow firms to reduce downtime and scale up capacity as needed.
