The Yahoo! oneSearch shortcut has been improved and expanded, according to the search engine's official blog.
Joy Ghanekar, of Yahoo! Mobile, announced the launch of several new features, including an auto-locate feature that uses cell tower triangulation and Wi-Fi to detect the user's location.
Other new features include a Windows Mobile client and enhanced Search Assist that incorporates the user's recent search history.
A new integrated voice search means that users can now speak or type their query directly from the home screen of Windows Mobile devices and the auto-locate feature allows the delivery of local search results.
Speaking of the improvement in Search Assist technology on BlackBerry devices, Ms Ghanekar said: "This will enable faster and easier input, delivering contextual recommendations and predictive text completion alongside the user's previously searched terms."
And Google is also making waves within the mobile search market, recently announcing the launch of AdSense - which gives users a speedy way to embed a Google search box on to their mobile site.
