YouTube garnered six billion video views during the month of December, once again coming out on the top of the online video field, according to recent figures.
Businesses considering using video content to improve their own search engine optimisation may wish to use the Google-owned site after comScore data revealed that 99 per cent of video viewing on the search engine's pages was conducted through the video hosting website.
And it matched its October figure of 100 million unique viewers - accounting for two out of every three video hosting website users.
Fox Interactive Media received 56,895 unique viewers while Yahoo! sites saw a total of 42,761 visitors.
Google also performed well at the close of 2008, gaining a fourth financial quarter net income of $382 million (£259 million).
And its total revenue for the year hit $21.7 billion.
Yahoo!, however, did not perform as well, with revenues down one per cent to $1,806 million.
