A group of black hats has "poisoned" some 400,000 Google Video search results which could lead users to download malware, it has been reported.
According to The Register, researchers at Trend Micro discovered that searchers were being directed to websites posing as an Adobe Flash Player update which then loaded malware on to Windows PCs should they be vulnerable.
It is believed the attackers have made use of a significant number of domains that have been crammed with keywords designed to make them appear at the top of search results ranking pages, the resource continues.
Furthermore, a detection-evasion technique has been implemented on the websites, with only searchers coming from Google Video being prompted to download the malware.
This is the second malware story to hit Google in recent days after Saturday (January 31st) saw the search engine labelling all internet content as malware following what the organisation called a "human error".
