Although Google remains ever-popular with the public, consumers would be willing to change to a different search engine in a number of circumstances, a study reveals.
Research conducted by internet analysts at JP Morgan found that better search results from a different provider would see people happily make the switch from Google.
A total of 45 per cent of respondents in a survey of 776 people said that results which better matched their search term would see them leave Google for a rival search engine.
However, 38 per cent said that nothing would make them leave Google, as they are happy with the services it offers.
Therefore, as BizReport notes, any search engine provider looking to topple Google needs to focus on two main points in order to stand a chance of taking the crown as the most-used search engine.
Speed and relevancy are two factors that could help to beat Google, the resource states, although a strong brand reputation would also be needed.
