To improve their search engine optimisation (SEO) through Google rankings, businesses first need to please the search engine's robot - the software programme that searches the web compiling data for its database - by feeding it, one online resource has claimed.
An article posted on Axandra states that companies must ensure the robot finds the right information and posts the correct data to its database.
However, it is not simply enough to optimise the home page but each page must be looked at individually.
"Optimise different pages of your website for different but related keywords so that Google's robot sees that your website is relevant to the topic. The more pages you optimise the better," the article asserts.
It continues that websites must also indulge the robot as it gets all of its information from plain HTML code, so all content must be contained in the right places.
Finally, the article advised guiding the robot using easy-to-follow text links that the firm wishes the search engine to see.
Meanwhile, in an earlier posting Axandra recommended checking a website to ensure that none of its links have broken in order to improve SEO.
