Practice makes perfect

Businesses that practice techniques on their websites such as content structure, content depth and individuality, design and sematic markup can expect to "earn better consideration" from search engines, one sector commentator has claimed.

SEOmoz blogger Randfish explained that in addition to this, companies could also see the benefits of the user online activities that play an influence in search engine algorithms.

"Having the right formatting or display won't necessarily boost your rankings directly, but through it, you're more likely to earn links, get clicks and eventually benefit in search rankings," he added.

While Randfish noted that keywords play a part in the search engine optimisation process (SEO), he added that so do presentation and architecture of the text and image and multimedia content on a page.

Meanwhile, in a separate posting, Randfish noted that he believes the SEO sector has been moving in the right direction over the past few years and is optimistic 2009 could be the best year yet.
