Businesses that are considering increasing their search engine optimisation techniques in the new year may be interested to know that one sector commentator has warned companies should not cut back on their marketing.
In spite of the pressure firms may be feeling due to the ongoing economic crisis, John Dunsmure, managing director of the British Chambers of Commerce, said if they did not look after their customers they would "really struggle".
"Look at your business plan, identify whether you are on the right track or not, if you have to change and diversify, be cautious about it but if you feel strongly, go ahead," he added.
According to the top five tips for business from Mr Dunsmure, companies should think smart, market more effectively, value customers, have a good cash management system and monitor cashflow regularly and make technology work for them.
Meanwhile, August 2008 research for Dell has revealed that 78 per cent of respondents claimed they would be interested if there was more relevant business programming for small businesses on the internet.
