One new year's resolution that is being recommended for small businesses to take up is utilising some form of web analytics, one sector commentator has claimed.
Matt McGee, writing on the online pages of Search Engine Land, said that once the analytics have been installed, companies should pay close attention to what the data tells them.
"Look at what keywords are sending natural search traffic to your site. Look at what other sites are referring traffic to you. There are usually new marketing opportunities to be found in both of those data sets," he states.
Mr McGee went on to add that by working on this now, businesses will be better prepared for success in 2009.
Meanwhile, SEO By The Sea's Bill Slawski has claimed that firms may wish to take into consideration the possibility that a search engine will include an image from a website in its rankings and that when they are choosing such pictures they should think about how well it reflects their web content.
