Businesses which produce and host a blog on their website may find there is something they can learn from journalists, according to one sector commentator, which may result in improved search engine optimisation (SEO).
Writing on the online pages of SEO by the Sea, Bill Slawski explains that when blogging, it may prove useful to provide links to the sources used for the content, such as original white papers and patents.
He added that firms should take care when using the results of a poll or survey in their blog as if it was conducted unscientifically it may not be as trustworthy as it first appears.
In related news on the subject of blogs, SEOmoz's Jane Copland has claimed that they could prove to be a catalyst for a website being recognised through SEO.
And Clickz Network's Enid Burns has stated that the content may also have more of an impact on a user's purchasing decision than social networks do.
