With the Christmas period fast approaching, search engine optimisation (SEO) campaigns will prove most effective if they are subject to "little tweaks" now, rather than "big fixes" that take longer to take effect, one sector commentator has claimed.
Writing on the online pages of Search Engine Journal, Dev Basu explains that seasonality has a big effect on every industry but that when it comes to SEO it is important to keep in mind that these trends may be unique to the festive period.
For example, he suggests taking a new view on keywords, such as establishing new themes including colour, model, cities, towns or free shipping to add to ad groups, rather than entering into a price war with competitors.
"Know why this approach will work if you still maintain a healthy presence over the top generic keywords in your niche? Most folks wont put the suggestion into action!" Mr Basu states.
Meanwhile, e-consultancy's Patrick Oak has claimed that 2009 is likely to be the year mobile internet increases substantially in popularity.
