Google releases SearchWiki

Changes to search engine optimisation campaigns may be introduced in the near future following the release of a new tool from Google.

The Google SearchWiki will allow users to move results up and down the page rankings depending on how useful they find each link.

While Google notes that any changes that are made will only affect an individual's search terms, there is also the option of sharing findings with others.

By using the option to see all the notes for a particular SearchWiki, searchers can compare people's thoughts on particular pages.

Such a tool may appeal to those working in search engine optimisation, so that an insight can be gained into what consumers really want when they search for a particular keyword.

The new function is currently only available to people with a Google account - and users must be signed in to see the options to move results up and down the page rankings.

Google claims the new tool is another example of how search is becoming more dynamic, allowing people to adjust results depending on how useful they are.
