Vodafone Storms Social Media for its New Blackberry Handset

For the launch of the new BlackBerry Storm handset, home james & Vodafone embarked on a Social Media Optimisation (SMO) campaign with a view to engaging the online audience in the weeks before the handset became publicly available. The campaign then continued to run long-after the initial launch based on the success of the early campaign.

The key to success was in creating content that was compelling enough to attract a sizeable audience, maintain their interest and ultimately for them to participate in our community & recommend it beyond our boundaries.

In creating a site with compelling content we created the foundation to embark on the wider SMO campaign. Through social bookmarking, social networking, blog & forum participation, and lots of hard work, the site achieved immediate success and achieved page 1 listings for all the important terms relating to the new handset within the first 2 months.

At its height, the site received over 200,000 visits per week directly related to the Storm handset and as a result was hailed as a significant success.

The results were astonishing - Storm Reviews achieved front page listings within six weeks of launch for all the major search terms.

The work we've done with hômejames generated over 400,000 page views in a 2 week period with a healthy amount of sales. The quality and results were well beyond expectations and the site continues to perform on Google’s 1st page for hundreds of related terms
