Screwfix Celebrate Success with 10,000 Fans in Year One
A new index has identified Screwfix as one of the fastest growing brands on Facebook. The ChannelAdvisor Facebook UK Commerce Index has shown that the popular trade brand has increased fans by 40% in May; well above the average of 16% for May 2011.

Central to this growth has been a number of competitions; researched, designed and executed by homejames. To support this and help create a community feel we have kept interaction and engagement strong by talking to the audience everyday acting as a friend giving them that little extra such as giveaways, advice and funny video content.
We also ensured we didn't push too many sales messages onto them. The regular competitions and daily interaction also help keep the fans engaged and spread the word to new followers.
Involving Fans and Providing Value
The homejames rounded approach to social media has also influenced other strands of Screwfix's marketing activity. Nicole Green, Social Media Manager at homejames, has worked closely with Screwfix and believes that having the client buy into the possibilities of social media marketing has helped the performance. She said:

This success is helping to build the foundation for a 2011/2012 strategy that will include Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Tumblr, whilst integrating social into Screwfix's wider marketing plan.
